1040 Tax In Depth Seminar Information

Our 2020 course will include detailed coverage, with planning ideas, of the latest changes from the 2019 Budget Bill, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, the Families First Act from 3/20 and the CARES Act from 3/2020 with special focus coverage of sole proprietorship issues and IRA’s as well as our annual review of common preparation issues and new court cases and IRS guidance. Because this is TaxSpeaker’s® flagship course participants are assured of receiving the best, most thorough and hands-on individual tax preparation education available in the country.

Every chapter has been updated for the effects of the end-of-2019 Budget Bill and both March 2020 tax bills, with in-depth discussion and examples of those changes! 2020 changes are all coming together with 4 different bills into a massive year of tax changes.

The 1040 In Depth course manual is America’s only independently awarded recognition for multiple years as the top Research live course CPE manual in the country. With over 1,000 pages of practitioner-written guidance, organized in the logical form order used by the IRS to assemble returns, participants receive both a printed and electronic manual. Written and taught by actual practitioners known for high-energy presentations in educational and humorous, yet informative manners, this course has been ranked as TaxSpeaker’s® finest course for 15 straight years. Because all of our speakers are required to personally prepare, for compensation at least 200 returns annually, participants are assured of receiving practical guidance, excellent speakers, and dozens of checklists, worksheets and client letters while obtaining the latest “What’s New” information. Refunds and Cancellations

COVID-19 Pandemic Impact and Refund

Because of the impacts on events and professional development caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, VSTAP has been forced to hold this event in a virtual online format.

The online format will require a computer and internet connection to be provided by the attendee.  The online event registration includes only an electronic version of the Tax Speaker seminar notebook.   A printed, hard-copy of the notebook may be purchased directly through Tax Speaker. Participants in the online version of the seminar will be supported by Tax Speaker’s staff and their attendance for CPE will be tracked by Tax Speaker.  The cost of the online registration is lower, therefore the difference between what was paid and the new online event registration fee will be refunded to those who paid registration prior to this announcement.   Because the event will be held in a format other than originally listed, all administrative fees will be waived for those who registered prior to the announcement of the change to an online event.

Attendance Cancellation Policy

Attendee cancellations and requests for refunds MUST be done in writing by e-mail or mail.  Postmarks for mail must be before the cancellation date.  Phone calls and phone messages will not qualify as notice of cancellation.

Refund and Complaint Policy

VSTAP is committed to fair and equitable administrative procedures. For more information regarding administrative policies such as complaint and refund, please contact our offices at 1-800-927-2731 or at asv@virginia-accountants.org to schedule a call to discuss issues.

Cancellations received must be received five (5) business days before the beginning of the event program to be eligible for refunds.  An administrative charge of $50 will be applied to all refunds.

Cancellations not received in writing by the date required will not be eligible for a refund. If cancellations requests are received less than five (5) days but more than 24 hours before the start of the program will be charged a $125 cancellation fee and the balance of the registration will be applied to a future VSTAP event.

If a person registered for the live event they will automatically be given the choice to register at a new rate for a simulcast or online seminar with all change fees waived.  Where there is a simulcast attendees will automatically be registered at that level but may decide to do online only.  If a simulcast is not available the attendee will automatically be registered as an online attendee and refunded the cost difference.  Attendees retain the option to cancel according to the policy above.
