The Virginia Society of Tax & Accounting Professionals will host its Annual Meeting for members on June 22 at 11:00 AM EDT. The online meeting offers a unique opportunity for members to get an insider's look at the society's priorities and to hear directly from the Board of Directors. The VSTAP board has approved a motion to go before the membership at this Annual Meeting to amend the bylaws. The motion is to amend the bylaws by removing Article V, Section 2, Subsection C, and re-numbering the other items accordingly. Posting of this meeting serves as required notice of the intent to bring this bylaw change before the membership at the Annual Meeting.
Circular 230 Ethics
Prior to the annual meeting VSTAP will be offering a two-hour Circular 230 Ethics Course from 9-11 AM EDT. This event is free to members and $75 for non-members.
This ethics course is designed to provide real life, interesting cases to review current Circular 230 requirements. We also provide an update to the latest Circular 230 proposals on outsourcing, national licensing and other issues.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
Determine what continuing education courses you should take that will meet the requirements established by the IRS; Determine if you meet the requirements to take a position on a tax return; Determine what you should do as a professional when certain situations arise in your practice to ensure that you do not violate the established ethics rules; Avoid actions that would result in sanctions including censure, suspension, or disbarment.
