The Presenter
:
John Everett, Ph.D., CPA, Professor of Accounting at Virginia Commonwealth University, author of the NSA Enrolled Agents Exam Review, and co-author (with Cherie Hennig) of the NSA Registered Tax Preparers Exam Review. John has won several awards for teaching excellence, and has taught numerous CPE courses for regional and national accounting firms.
What to Expect:
This is a comprehensive (and we mean
COMPREHENSIVE
) and intense review designed to help you pass the Registered Tax Return Preparer Exam
the first time!
The course will offer a concise, informative, and thorough review of all topics that may appear on the Registered Tax Return Preparer Exam. These include:
filing requirements
,
gathering information from clients
,
gross income and exclusions
,
deductions
(both for and from adjusted gross income),
tax credits
,
sales and exchanges of property
(including personal residences),
special tax computations
, and
practice and ethical issues
(including a thorough review of Circular 230).
The method of presentation is a brief discussion on each topic, interspersed with a series of practice questions to be worked during the session.
Over 150 practice questions
will be covered during the session. The presentation is based on a comprehensive course outline furnished to each participant, and is supplemented by the practice questions and special handouts, diagrams, and case studies to better understand both the "hows" and "whys" of each tax provision. These notes and handouts will be emailed to participants to print out prior to the course.
Each participant will be furnished a
"100 Keys"
sheet, containing 100 key points to absolutely, positively remember before going into the exam.
Each participant will also be granted access to
a complete practice exam
following the course, including answers, explanations, and a special check-sheet to spot weak areas in the seven test domains to review before taking the exam.
After the course, feel free to email the instructor with any questions you may have before taking the exam.
We only want you to take this exam once!
