IRS issues proposed regulations on shared responsibility provisions of the Affordable Care Act

Starting in 2014, certain employers – including certain for-profit, non-profit, and government entity employers – must offer health coverage to their full-time employees or a shared responsibility payment may apply. On Dec. 28, 2012, the Treasury Department and the IRS issued proposed regulations on the Employer Shared Responsibility provisions. Comments may be submitted electronically, by mail or hand delivered to the IRS.
